Raspberry Pi in the industry

Raspberry Pi in the industry on the DIN rail

The Raspberry Pi is gradually conquering the industry. With ease of upgrading its functionality, ease of development and high performance, the Raspberry Pi is ideally suited for a wide range of automation industrial needs.

Criteria for industrial suitability:

Durable delivery capability

Second Source is no longer available for the current components and SOCs. To guarantee our marketability, we only offer compatible solutions. This guarantees the availability of our manually adapted products.

EMC criteria

Our small, industrial PC solutions extend the Raspberry with a voltage regulator (24 Volt) with appropriate filters, a microcontroller, digital IO (galvanically isolated) in a Raspberry Pi with DIN rail housing, which has been tested by an accredited testing laboratory. In doing so, we have used the stricter standards (household, industry). Our systems have passed the tests (surge, burst, ESD, radiation).

Temperature range

The industrial use is defined again and again by the temperature range of - 40 ° C to + 80 ° C. The challenges are not the very low or very high temperatures: The biggest challenge lies in the temperature increase from 0 ° C to + 5 ° C, which can lead to the formation of condensation. Therefore, the whole system including the housing of the DIN rail is designed for this temperature transition.

Support vs. Community

The large community of the Pi is definitely an big advantage. Thanks to this large community, errors, problems and their possible solutions that occur with the Pi are published quickly (such as the ttyS0 twister for the Pi3). Open source provides security here.
