Description

4G / LTE modem on the DIN rail

A modem for industrial use in the field

This 4G/LTE modem offers a number of advantages for use in the control cabinet on the DIN rail for decentralized data acquisition and control in remote locations. This modem is based on the long proven SIMCom 7600E-H (PCIe) chipset.

The advantages of the Andino 4G / LTE modem:

1.) Broadband connectivity: 4G/LTE provides a fast and reliable broadband connection that enables real-time data exchange. This allows large amounts of data to be transferred quickly, which is important when collecting and transmitting sensor data or controlling devices in real time.
2.) Coverage and availability: 4G/LTE networks are now available in many remote areas. Compared to other wireless technologies such as WLAN or Bluetooth, 4G/LTE offers greater range and better network coverage. This allows the modem to be used in remote locations where other connectivity options may not be available.
3rd) Reliability: 4G/LTE connections are generally stable and reliable. Cellular networks are designed to maintain a constant connection even in the presence of movement or challenging environmental conditions. This is especially important in industrial environments where connectivity must be guaranteed around the clock.
4.) Security: 4G/LTE connections offer higher security than many other wireless connectivity options. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, which ensures the confidentiality and integrity of transmitted data. This is critical, especially when capturing and transmitting sensitive or protected data.
5) Easy installation and maintenance: 4G/LTE modems are generally easy to install and do not require extensive cabling. Since they are mounted on the DIN rail in the control cabinet, they can be integrated to save space. Firmware maintenance and updating can usually be done remotely, minimizing on-site efforts.
6.) Connection to the host computer (e.g. one of the Andino PCs) via a 15cm USB cable and thus a fast and secure connection
7.) Use of the GPS receiver is possible. The GPS antenna can be connected to the SMA connector.

All in all, a 4G/LTE modem in the control cabinet on the DIN rail for decentralized data acquisition and control in remote locations provides a reliable, broadband and secure connectivity solution that meets the requirements of industrial and IoT applications.
